健康要緊 老虎放棄角逐外卡

Tiger Woods念茲在茲的萊德盃外卡，在健康為前提的情況下，正式宣佈放棄角逐外卡機會，並在12前不會參加任何比賽。
近來比賽成績不佳的Woods，實在沒理由說服Tom Watson把其中一張外卡給他，但Watson先前受訪曾說，前球王還在他觀察名單內。
不過Woods已經通知Watson，不要把他列入考慮名單中，「我非常失望，我無法準備好參加比賽，萊德盃與美國隊的意義重大，我不能貢獻我最好的一面，但優秀的選手很多。」
Woods放棄的原因在於，醫生與訓練員都建議他，背部的肌肉需要治療與康復的時間，現在最好不要出賽與練球，他也透露，這次的部位與上次手術的地方無關。
Watson也發表聲明說：「我主要希望Woods是健康且有競爭力的，希望他很快就重返球場，當然我很失望他叫我不要考慮他，因為他的健康狀況不如預期。」
